Biography

Mitch Crane served six years as a District Judge in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and has been a practicing attorney since 1977. Until April, 2007, Judge Mitch was the senior and managing partner of Crane, Teti, Cox, Trott and Bishay. He then retired from the firm to become House Counsel to the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Delaware.Judge Crane also served ten years as a member of the West Chester, Pennsylvania City Council, including two years as president.

Mitch is a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Education Foundation Board of Governors.  He has served his fraternity as chapter counselor, Alumni Board Treasurer and president, as well as spending eight years as District Governor.  He has received several fraternity awards including the Distinguished Alumnus Award, and the Frank J. Ruck, Jr. Interfraternity Leadership Award.  In August 2005, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity presented Mitch with their highest honor, The Order of the Golden Heart.  It is given to alumni who "with great personal sacrifice, have given exceptional service to Sigma Phi Epsilon."

In addition to an undergraduate degrees in history, Mitch did his graduate work in psychology and holds a Juris Doctorate from the Widener University School of Law.  Mitch has taught English and Political Science at the high school level (while coaching track), and Civil Litigation at the post-graduate level.

Judge Crane has delivered seminars on risk management, date rape, and hazing on more than 500 campuses coast to coast.

While traveling to campuses all over the country, Crane also finds time for active membership in the Association of Fraternity Advisors, which awarded him the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award in December, 2006.
